NOVELIC 2022 In Review

The end of the year gives us an opportunity to look back and reflect on everything that took place in 2022, measure progress, and celebrate all hard-won victories. This was an exciting year for NOVELIC, filled with important milestones and events. It would take a long time to mention every successfully delivered project and every obstacle we overcame as a company, team, or individual, but we will surely remember them all. These are some of the main things we are proud of when we think about 2022:

First product launch – RIOT100

After facing many challenges including COVID and component shortage, we successfully launched our first product at the Light+Building fair in Frankfurt which sets the groundwork for a whole product family and product-oriented company strategy. And this was just the beginning; soon after, we launched two more radar-based solutions, ACAM and ASPER.

Now our family of products looks like this:
RIOT100 – motion and presence detection radar solution for smart lighting
ACAM – in-cabin radar sensing solution with a focus on child safety through child presence detection
ASPER – sensing solutions for trucks, AGVs, mining, construction, and agriculture vehicles, e-bikes, motorcycles, and 3-wheelers

ACAM world premiere

October was marked by the world premiere of the automotive in-cabin monitoring solution at IZB Wolfsburg that we have developed with our partner Infineon. As child presence detection is one of ACAM’s most essential features, we hope to contribute to building a safer world for the young ones.

A memorable first impression was a must for ACAM, so we hired an artist from 4KStudio to design a hand-sculpted car cabin model. The focus on symmetry and fine detail coupled with flawless sensor performance was rewarded with great feedback from the visitors. You can watch how the cabin was created here.

Novi Sad office opening

Another vast milestone – we have opened an office in Science & Technology Park in Novi Sad. Together with Belgrade and Niš, there are now three NOVELIC engineering centers in Serbia, but stay tuned for a new location we will disclose next year.

We continue to grow

In the past 12 months, our team has grown by around 50 people, and we are close to reaching 200 employees. Each new colleague has contributed to the company’s success with their skillset, ideas, and a fresh look at things, which is why we are looking forward to expanding the NOVELIC work family even more in 2023.

10-year anniversary

What better way to end a great year than by celebrating NOVELIC’s first decade? The company started off as a startup with just a handful of people and a keen goal. Ten years ago, it was hard to imagine that NOVELIC would evolve into a well-recognized name with hundreds of employees in several cities and countries.

If we can wish for something, it would be that in 2023 we will continue to be as successful as we have been in the last decade. One sign of our wish becoming reality is NOVELIC’s first-time attendance at the CES conference in Las Vegas. Here’s to a prosperous and memorable new year!
